Mark Sturtz – PGA Instructor

Mark has been a member of the PGA since 1992 and has gained extensive teaching experience during his time as a PGA Professional.

During the 2008 golf season in Maryland, Mark gave over 1200 lessons utilizing a two camera video teaching system and believes that the facilities at CGA are among the best available anywhere in the country.   He believes that the learning environment is greatly enhanced when through the use of video a student is able to see all the dynamic elements of their swing and compare those elements to those of professional golfers.

Mark's teaching philosophy begins with the fundamentals and builds upon them through an in-depth analysis of all the elements involved in making good golf swings both on the driving range and on the course.  He believes that the club's position at waist-high in both the backswing and downswing determine a person's success in executing shots.  In addition to high speed video analysis Mark will often utilize golf shafts, pool noodles, impact bags, and headcovers in his efforts to get students to feel proper positions in the golf swing.

Carlo Alaqua - PGA Instructor

Carlo_Photo_2Carlo is a life time member of the PGA.  He was introduced to golf at an early age through caddying.  It was the beginning of a life long passion for the game.  In his 30+ years as a PGA professional he has worn many hats as a Head Golf Professional, golf course and driving range owner and teaching professional.

The teaching aspect of golf is where Carlo excels.  The satisfaction in being able to make the game of golf more enjoyable for an individual and giving back to the game is what being a professional is all about.

Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio with a four season climate Carlo learned how important patience and good practice is.  Every spring becomes a time for retraining when you continue to build on past years of golf experience.  Carlo feels that each person's swing and abilities are theirs alone and each lesson must be customized to address their individual golf needs.

His goal is to get a student in an athletic set up where they can swing with controlled power and repetition.  He believes that all parts of good golf are important, mental, physical, full swing and short game.

Give Carlo a call and set up an appointment for a consultation.
